About Jason Baxter

There are many Jason Baxters in the world, so it’s important to clarify which one you’ve stumbled onto. I’ve gotten a lot of emails from strangers asking if I’m their Jason Baxter. Here’s who I am:

I was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee some 30+ years ago. We lived there until ‘86 when we moved to San Antonio, Texas. Two years later we moved to Houston. 9 months after that, we moved to Fullerton/Buena Park, California (in Orange County). The next year, we went North to San Francisco/Pacifica. A year later we were back in San Antonio where I finished High School (or it finished me) and started college (still not finished finished).

I started a career as a waiter/bartender/musician after leaving home. During that time, I briefly lived in Boerne, Texas, before moving North to Austin with my band.

After the band broke up, I finished school, got a real job, and lost it with the Dot Crash. I worked freelance for a while, before landing a permanent job back in San Antonio. For 4 years I continued to live in Austin, and either commuted or stayed with family. Eventually I was offered a job in Austin, which I took.

I live with my girlfriend Jennifer and our cat Mick. She would want me to mention he rides a skateboard. We have a house in beautiful South Austin, just blocks away from the greenbelt.
